Creating a new brand for the fourth oldest Cambridge College (founded in 1348).Cambridge Enterprise
Rebranding the University’s technology transfer office (the UK’s largest university commercialisation department, and the most significant globally after Stanford and MIT). I also produce the annual report.Cambridge Innovation Capital
Developing a brand for the £80m follow-on investment firm started by the University.Brentwood SchoolOther clients include the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Kent County Council, Promise, HfT, Telos Partners and Sparknow.
Rebranding this independent school, redesigning their website and printed materials (four prospectuses) to work together and reflect the new brand.

1989–2009 Precedent Communications
Paul Hoskins and I had been colleagues at Wolff Olins, and I worked with Precedent in various roles from its inception until 2009 (from 1994–2009 as senior consultant). In this time I was responsible for the rebranding of Middlesex and Southampton Universities, Essex County Council, Richards Butler, Atlantic Telecom and the National School of Government (amongst others), and I led brand development, communications and web projects for a wide range of organisations. For more than ten years I presented on a range of subjects at Precedent’s monthly marketing seminars.Middlesex University

Developing strategy and content for the website of this part of the Cabinet Office.SuezOther clients included the clients inculded Shell, Suez, the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Defence, the National School of Government, the University of Cambridge, Essex County Council, Swiss Re, Oxford Brookes University and the University of London External System. In addition to stratedic consultancy I also designed the brands for Aquazur, Richards Butler and Charterhouse and developed web strategies for the University of Sheffield, the Royal College of Midwives, Expert Gardener and SunBank.

1990–2003 Just Proportion
At the end of 1989 I started a business specialising in corporate identity and information design (at its height employing seven people).Royal Mail
Soon after opening we were chosen to redesign all Royal Mail forms – a project which took eight years and encompassed hundreds of items.Norwich Union
We were appointed principal identity consultants to Norwich Union, helping them to develop their Wolff Olins scheme until their amalgamation with General Accident.Central Council for Education and Training in Social WorkOther clients included Prudential, Abbey National, Pearl Assurance, MANWEB and the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work. We also carried out original typeface design for clients including Harrods, Linklaters, the Quali cations and Curriculum Development Agency, and RSM Erasmus University.
Creating the campaign for the introduction of NVQs in care, developing the Social Work Charter and producing collateral to support the Council’s quality assurance initiative.
1986–1989 Wolff Olins
The three years I spent as a designer at Wolff Olins was my education in corporate identity – especially the year I sat next to Wally Olins!Clients included Mercantile Group, Midland Bank, Regus, National Power, Allied Irish Bank and ICL.
